Your elementary AND middle school PTG!

Hello!  The June meeting of the PTG will be an important one as we are voting to amend our bylaws and install a new piece of equipment on the CTP playground (pictured here!).

Meeting Tuesday June 13th @ 4pm

We have been informed that the Cheshire PTG is dissolving and we will not be getting any financial support from them in the coming school year.  Therefore, we will be voting to amend our bylaws to include both the elementary and middle school grades, plus expanding our list of officers to include a chair, treasurer, secretary, and arts enrichment coordinator for each school moving forward.

Nominations and election of new officers at each school will take place in the Fall, as we hope to include as many families from Cheshire and Adams as possible.  This is an exciting development for your PTG as we work to support all of the ACRSD students in Preschool through 7th grade.  We hope to continue supporting the field trips, events, and fun that have been traditions at both Adams and Cheshire schools.  All families are welcome at any PTG meeting.  Please share!

End-of-Year Activities!

There’s always a lot going on at the end of the school year!  Here’s an update on the May meeting from your PTG:

Principal’s Report –

  • 7 new positions posted (interventionists and SPED and Coordinator), if one of the towns votes down the budget, those new positions will not be filled
  • No parent requests for class placements because many in-house teachers have applied for the 7 open positions and can’t wait until the staff is hired to put class lists together
  • Middle school – departmentalized model, every core subject every day, 4th grade will have 2 teams so each student will have 2 teachers, no study halls, common planning time for teachers, busses will be separate from high school, teachers will escort students to lunch and gym

New Business –

  1. Teacher Requests- 4th grade Howe Caverns – already approved, need check by May 26th
  2. Yearbook – cost to print has increased, we will increase the price by $1, order forms are ready to go – $15/yearbook, $7 for 5th graders

    • 5th grade picnic June 6th – PTG will order grinders, buy drinks, chips, cookies – get volunteers
    • 5th grade T-shirts – confirm amount with Kale Skrocki and get check to him
  4. In need of a new Arts Enrichment coordinator – volunteers???

Welcome back to school!

Our PTG is trying to plan many things for this upcoming school year. We need more volunteers to make our events happen.  We are looking forward to a great school year for our children!

  • Yankee candle fundraiser will be coming home right away.  Seeing a fundraiser the first day back might be overwhelming, but if there are any problems they can be fixed before the holidays
  • Fuel Raffle– The PTG will pay $500 for any kind of heating fuel. This means, oil, gas, electric, wood, pellets and if your rent includes heat we will make the payment to your landlord. Tickets are due back to the school October 4th and the winner will be picked at the October meeting.
  • A big thank you to our CTP custodial staff, as well as Shawn Wright and those who volunteered to help freshen up our playground. We added some new mulch, a fresh coat of paint and a sandbox is being installed.
  • The PTG will be looking at adding another piece of equipment to our playground this school year. This piece will be geared toward the younger students and we would love our parents and staff to help us with this new addition.

Please join us at our first meeting on September 13th at 6pm where we will be joined by our new Superintendent Dr. Robert Putnam.

Looking forward to a happy, healthy & productive school year!

Meeting December 1st

Get started today:

  1. Download the free Shoparoo app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
